The Portofino Bay Hotel, a Loews Hotel, is modeled after the famous Italian Fishing Village. It's a 4 diamond resort, has the highest industry service standards. There are several restaurants, 3 pools, shopping opportunities and a Destination Universal Desk at the resort. It surrounds a peaceful Bay, where you can take a serene water taxi ride to CityWalk and the Universal theme parks. It's perfect for a romantic getaway, yet there are plenty of activities for families, too. There are 750 rooms, including Bay View, Garden View, Deluxe Pool View, Kids Suites, Portofino, Villa, and Hospitality Suites. There are 3, top of the line, exclusive suites (2 Governatore, 1 Presidente).
The Beach Pool has a roman aquaduct slide, a zero entry (walk in vs. step in) and is the most popular of the pools. There's sand along the pool, the Splendido Pizzeria, and a game room which makes it perfect for families. The Villa Pool is a large pool near the bocci ball court, a hot and a
cold plunge, a changing room and is surrounded by cabanas and several lounge chairs.
The Hillside Pool is smaller and the quietest of the 3 pools, in a more remote area. There is a changing room at this pool.
